Customs or Integrated Supply Chain Management
Customs and integrated supply chain management are two different concepts, but they are closely related and often overlap.
Customs management refers to the processes and procedures involved in importing and exporting goods across national borders. This includes compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and duties, as well as obtaining the necessary permits and certifications to move goods across borders. Customs management is essential for ensuring the smooth flow of goods through the international supply chain and avoiding penalties for non-compliance.
Integrated supply chain management, on the other hand, refers to the coordination of all the activities involved in managing the flow of goods and services from the source of raw materials to the final destination of the finished product. This includes managing suppliers, logistics providers, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, as well as monitoring inventory levels and ensuring timely delivery to customers. The goal of integrated supply chain management is to optimize the entire supply chain to minimize costs, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
