Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University in Uttar Pradesh is currently conducting the admission process for B.Tech, MBA, and MCA programs. In AKTU, there are a total of 1.17 lakh seats available for B.Tech, MBA, and MCA courses combined. So far, only 30,000 admissions have been completed for these courses. For B.Tech, there are 81,000 seats, out of which 33,000 registrations have been received. Choice filling has been done for 28,500 seats, while 23,500 seats have been allotted.

In MBA and MCA, there are 36,000 seats available. There have been 3,400 registrations for these. Choice filling has been done by 2,800 students and 2,500 seats have been allotted. The first round of admissions is now complete. By Wednesday evening, nearly 20,000 students have deposited their fees to lock in their seats. Those who do not pay the fees will have their seats become vacant for the next round. Those who have been allotted seats but do not submit the fees will not be able to proceed to the next round. Almost all government engineering colleges in the state have filled up. If there are any vacant seats, they will be filled by the spot round.Seats may remain vacant in private colleges.

This time, it is certain that there will be more vacant seats in private colleges. Most renowned private engineering colleges in cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bareilly, Agra, Prayagraj, and others have already taken some admissions earlier. According to the rules, colleges can fill vacant seats at their own level through AKTU counseling. The management quota is separately fixed at 15 percent, but the number of such colleges is low. Moreover, most of the seats that have been allotted, if left by the government, are also predominantly those private colleges whose standing in the market is quite decent
